FCB Project Detailed Work Plan in 2005

      According to the project implementation and the requirements of UNDP/GEF project document, a detailed work plan was discussed and concluded by National Project Management Office, Beijing Project Commission and UNDP Beijing that aims to guarantee the time schedule and operation of FCB project effectively in 2005.

      The main tasks in 2005 include application for Project Part II funding, construction of hydrogen refueling station and bus garage, as well as all prepare works related to the demonstration of 3 FCBs in Beijing. At the beginning of 2005, PMO start working on preparation of project Part II application, and will submit the first draft to the GEF Secretariat in August. Construction of hydrogen refueling station and bus garage need to be implemented step-by-step synchronously, involving sites prepared and approval, hydrogen supply system and bus garage equipment purchase, operator training etc. Bus garage construction is expected to complete in August, hydrogen refueling station will be completed before Beijing fuel-cell buses operation. From September to October 2005, receive delivery of 3 Beijing fuel-cell buses supplied by DC. In case of meeting all safety and performance requirements, Beijing will final accept the buses.

      Before the in-service performance, PMO and relevant institutions will be in charge of many works, such as design data collection system, collect ridership data, vehicle certification and free-duty, demonstration route selection, daily operational management plan, formulate guideline for quarterly reports on in-service performance etc. In addition, there are many daily management works, including publish project newsletter, update China FCB project website, hold annual (quarterly) coordination/review meeting, undertake policy study tour, exchange experiences with other GEF projects and so on.
