A consulting Meeting of “Fuel Cell Bus Commercialization in China” Project Part II Application

    A consulting meeting of “GEF-UNDP Demonstration for Fuel Cell Bus Commercialization in China” project Part II application was held on 16 June 2005 in Beijing Zhangjiagang Hotel. The related officials and experts respectively from MOST, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Beijing Public Transit Company, CICETE, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Municipal Science & Technology Commission, Tongji University participated into the meeting. Chen Jiachang, the Project Vice Director of MOST, chaired the meeting. The main objectives for the meeting were to discuss the preparation of project part II application brief and make appropriate plan and outcomes for getting the approval by GEF-UNDP successfully.

    Professor Lun Jingguang concluded the implementation and evaluation of project part I, while he introduced the contents of part II application brief. The representatives had a discussion on the contents of application brief involving Beijing and Shanghai part II plan, current problems and effective countermeasures. Some valuable opinions were expressed on the meeting. The CICETE official suggested to describe the significant meaning for China and other countries to continue to implement the project in the application brief. Application for “Green Channel” for relevant municipal departments was advised by the official from Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission to help improve the project performance. The details of application brief were discussed between PMO and Shanghai representatives.

    The representatives exchanged ideas widely on the meeting. PMO adopted these considerable opinions to enrich the application brief.
