The Fifth Coordination Meeting of Beijing Project Held

   The Fifth Coordination Meeting of Beijing Project was convened on 18 May in Tsinghua University. The attendees included Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, CICETE, Beijing Public Transport Company, Sinohytec Company, the Tsinghua University, DC, BALLARD, BP, and PMO. The main purposes of the meeting focused on discussing the installation of Beijing hydrogen refueling station and workshop, vehicle certification, pre-acceptance, spare parts contract, data collection system and training etc.

    Agenda:

    (1) Sinohytec and BP companies respectively introduced the hydrogen refueling station schedule, especially explained the primary problems and difficultness. DC Company also brought forward the suggestions for hydrogen quality.

    (2) Beijing Public Transport Company described the workshop construction and guaranteed the complement on due time.

    (3) Beijing Public Transport Company, CICETE and DC-Ballard representatives exchanged ideas about vehicle certification, pre-acceptance and spare parts contract.

    (4) DC project manager gave a brief description of the demonstration for DC Citaro in Europe and Australia in the last two years. Total 33 Citaro FCBs accumulated log were 750,000 Km and operated 55,000 hours. According to the collected data, Citaro showed good capability in the program. He also illuminated Beijing FCBs in Germany factory: the first bus had been tested on 12 May with satisfying result; the other two buses were following the schedule.

     (5) On 19 May, DC and BP representatives visited Aerospace 101 Institute and discussed hydrogen quality and filling equipments with the technicians.

    Consequences:

    (1) Tri-partite representatives agreed that Beijing would organize a delegation go to Germany to take pre-acceptance for three FCBs together on 10-16 July, as well as DC would supply the related describable documents and vehicle test reports at that time.

    (2) Regarding spare parts agreement, a draft would be prepared by DC-Ballard and signed by DC-Ballard, CICETE and Beijing Public Transport Company as soon as possible.

    It was a successful meeting. Through effective communication and information sharing, the representatives adjusted some arrangements corresponding to current implementation for matching the goals in next stage and improving the project efficiency.
