  From Dec.1 to Dec. 14, 2003 the China Fuel Cell Bus Commercialization Project Management Office organized a delegation to visit Germany and France. The goal is to learn the experience of operation, application and management of FCB demonstration and other clean vehicles as well as the relevant strategy, planning and policies in Europe The delegation was headed by Mr. Chen Jiachang, the deputy national project director and Mr. Zhang Jinhua, the vice director of China Automotive Technology & Research Center. The group consisted of the following people:

      During the study tour, the delegation visited Daimler Chrysler, Evobus GmbH, Hamburg-Consult/Hamburg Hochbahn AG, Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Housing, in Germany, and Renault, Peugeot-Citroen, PSA La Poste, EDF, SVE Dassaut, etc, in France.

  Through this study tour, we understand much better about the "Clean Urban Transport in Europe" (CUTE), which is the largest FCB demo project. CUTE currently demonstrates the feasibility of zero emission public transport, including alternative fuels infrastructure. Addressing a series of problems resulted from serious traffic jam, the European Commission is allocating ?18.5 million Euro to the CUTE FCB demonstration project in 9 European cities. These cities are Amsterdam (Netherlands), Barcelona (Spain), Hamburg (Germany), London (United Kingdom), Luxembourg, Madrid (Spain), Porto (Portugal), Stockholm (Sweden) and Stuttgart (Germany).

  Europe Commission wants to find an efficient and environmentally friendly power source for the future vehicles in their cities.
