DaimlerChrysler is the successful bidder

  On April 23,2004,DaimlerChrysler was announced to be the successful bidder of the GEF/UNDP China FCB Commercial Demonstration Project, the bid number of which is ICEB-B01G3101. This bid was opened on March 18,2004.

  From March 22 to 23,2004, the China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE) organized the bid evaluation work, Strictly conforming to the predetermined bid assessment principles, which are best value for money, fairness, integrity and transparency, the experts read the bidding documents thoroughly. A successful bidder was chosen by scoring method. A bidder’s score includes two parts: the bid price score and the score for other terms. According to the scoring result, DaimlerChrysler attained the highest score.

  The Bid Evaluation Committee agreed collectively that DaimlerChrysler has the following advantages:

  1 advanced FCB technology
  2 rich experience of development and demonstration of FCB
  3 satisfaction of all basic requirements solicitated in the bid
  4 better after-sales service
  5 appropriate bid price
  6 possession of the formal operation licenses (national level certification) of FCB

  The Bid Evaluation Committee recommended DaimlerChrysler to be the successful bidder based on the principle of best value for money.

  According to the program schedule, on April, 6, 2004, DaimlerChrysler was announced to be the initial winner. By April 20, 2004, no complaint was received at the end of this contest period. DiamlerChrysler became the official successful bidder. The entire bidding process of the GEF/UNDP China FCB Commercialization Demonstration Project abides both to the purchasing manual of U.N. and the purchasing law of China.
