State Project representatives attended the 3rd Biannual meeting HyFLEET:CUTE in Barcelona from Nov.6,2006 to Nov 8 ,2006.About 40 people from Daimler Chrysler Co., BP CO., Australia government and the principals of 8 fuel cell bus demonstration cities attended this meeting.

The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the bus technology, bus operation, infrastructure technology and information on 1st year report.

Lots of communication has been done in the meeting, such as the demonstration experiences of hydrogen fuel cell buses and refueling stations of 9 cities in Europe. Especially, the representative from Ballard Co. gave us a detailed explanation on the issues of the fuel cell power system during the operation. At the same time, representative from Daimler Chrysler Co. introduced the development of the next generation of the fuel cell buses. The representatives discussed the experiences and lessons of the fuel cell buses and refueling station. During the meeting, state office representatives visited the refueling station and fuel cell bus maintenance workshop in Spanish, and discussed on the operation, maintenance and trouble of the refueling station. We know the problems of the fuel cell bus and refueling station in Europe in advance that provides a reference for Beijing and Shanghai demonstration projects.

Fuel cell buses demonstrate in different climate, road and traffic condition in Europe. The fuel cell buses perform well according to the 9 cities statistic data. In the past two years in 9 cities in Europe, the fuel cell buses achieve great achievements including more than 1 million mileages, good reliability, hydrogen reduction, accidents and troubles reduction by the development of the demonstration.

By the communication with the other fuel cell demonstration countries, we provide lots of experiences for domestic demonstration projects and publicize the development of fuel cell buses to the other countries.
